How do I setup a Private Server? Print

  • 4

A Private Server is a dedicated backup server that resides inside your office. All office computers perform their backups to this server, and the data is then replicated off-site to our Cloud on either a Daily or Weekly basis.

Requirements:

  1. Server Hardware that can be used for the Private Server. This Computer must not be used for any other purpose. Minimum Specs: 4GB RAM + 1TB Storage
  2. You must place an order for the Private Server package: http://www.soteriacloud.co.za/myaccount/cart.php?a=add&pid=18
  3. Base O/S install of either Windows Server 2008 or CentOS (5 or 6)

Getting Started:

You can install and test the Priviate Server before you place the order for the licenses and replication.
Once you have installed the Base O/S on the server you should install TeamViewer Host on the Server to enable Remote Access for our Support Staff: http://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/index.aspx. We can then perform an installation of the backup server software for you.
