Initial 'seeding' via local storage explained

If your data size is quite large, there is another way to reduce bandwidth usage and a cost effective way too!

Here's how it works:

Larger backups are written to a USB drive or external hard drive in an encrypted state and then taken to our local data centre. It is then phyically loaded onto our server and once the full, entire backup is complete, the next backup will only submit the incremental backups, meaning that only the changes will be uploaded! This is called an initial 'seed'

All we require from you is your postal address and the total size of your data that you would like to backup and we will send a package to you containing the following:

  • A USB stick (appropriately sized) or external hard drive
  • An instruction sheet on how to do the local 'seed' onto the USB stick or external drive
  • A Pre-paid return envelope to be sent back to us!

Simple, easy and cost effective!

* The initial seeding is done within 48 hours of receiving the USB / external drive at our data centre!*
